For Reasonable Health Insurance Quotes, Compare Carriers

April 25th, 2010

The major thing to remember when searching for health insurance quotes is that the bigger companies are not always the best choice to ask for quotes. Although they have multiple carriers, their sites don’t often offer side-by-side comparisons of one plan to another. That’s what you want – a site that gives you the ability to see what others offer at the same time. It’s a novel thought, and yes, there are sites on the Internet that do that.

Don’t base your search for health care insurance on price alone. You might find that a rather radical thought, because trying to save money leads logically to shopping for the least expensive plan. However, you may not want to do that because when you go for the cheapest options, you often end up foregoing benefits you may need later.

Here’s where your local health insurance agent comes into play. Call them; that’s what they’re there for – to provide you with a health care insurance quote that is tailor-made for your specific circumstances, not everyone else’s. The advice is free, and it can save you a ton of money while getting you what you really need in terms of health care coverage.

When talking to the health insurance agent, tell them precisely what you are looking for based on what you need for you and/or your family. Tell them all the circumstances, such as pre-existing conditions, your family size and plans for future children, or conditions you currently have under control through the use of medication.

All the information you give the agent is confidential and will help them to provide you with a plan that works. There are thousands of options out there, and you can’t read about all of them online. That’s what health care insurance agents are for, to make choosing a health care plan a whole lot easier.

The big name online companies might not always be the best option for you either, largely because they don’t always have the same kind of plan flexibility as a smaller company does. Brand name companies, like brand name drugs, don’t always do what you think they will do. Ask smaller companies to provide you quotes while also taking time for a free consultation with the insurance broker. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Wal-Mart – High Cost of Low Price allotment 10 of 10

April 24th, 2010

Part 10 out of 10 of a film about how the largest supermarket chain in the USA are being paid and begged to open new stores in towns, while they are abusing the American people. Wal-mart have been begged and paid to establish new stores in towns all over America. As soon as the store opens, local shops are forced to declare bankruptcy since they cannot compete with Wal-Marts prices. Employees are victims for racism, and lack of proper health insurance through the job. Wal-Mart wants to put the responsibility on MediCare in order for them to save money. The company don’t care about the environment, and they care even less about the Chinese that make all lots of the goods you by for a cheap amount of money. They don’t care about you as a customer. Once you have paid for your grocieries, you are left on your own. Security on the parking lot? Forget about it. It costs too much. Again, this is not a film that I have created, I just want the message to get to the people! Please look at the credits at the end of the film!

Denied Health Insurance Coverage

April 23rd, 2010

Health care can be very expensive these days, and getting health insurance has become a potential solution to this problem. However, as anyone who has ever applied for health insurance knows, it is not as simple as filling out some forms. In some cases, people can be denied coverage altogether. What follows is an overview of the process of application for health insurance, how you can be denied, and in case you are, the possible courses of action.

Screening

Before receiving health insurance coverage, insurance policy providers will have you undergo a screening to determine how risky a client you are. Part of this screening involves a physical examination during which you may be made to undergo tests for various forms of cancer, sexually transmitted diseases and other disorders. This screening will also look into your family’s medical history. You may not have cancer right now, but if your family?s medical history shows that your family is predisposed to it, then you are at risk of acquiring it in the future.

Reasons for rejection

If you present a case to the policy provider which is extremely risky, chances are you will either be asked to pay an extremely high monthly premium, or be denied coverage outright. If your family medical history shows that your father’s line is particularly susceptible to testicular cancer, rejection can potentially occur. Even if your family’s medical history is clear, you can still be denied if your profession is particularly hazardous. If you are a firefighter who would prefer individual health insurance, you may have some difficulty in getting it.

Possible solutions

Ask your employer about health insurance coverage for your company. Most companies choose to give a group health insurance package for all its employees called group insurance coverage. This can be the remedy to your problems if you think you will not be considered eligible for individual health insurance.

How to Get Inexpensive Health Insurance

April 22nd, 2010

Looking to buy health insurance? Want to know how to get inexpensive health insurance with a reliable company? Here’s how …

Types of Health Insurance

There are four basic types of health plans:

Indemnity Plans – These plans let you choose your own doctor, and it pays all of your medical bills up to a specified daily amount for a specified number of days.

Indemnity plans are the most flexible health care plans, but they are the most expensive plans and they involve the most paperwork.

HMOs (Health Maintenance Organizations) - With these plans you pay a monthly premium to join a network of physicians and hospitals. You must choose a primary care physician within the network who oversees your medical care.

HMOs are the most restrictive of all the health insurance plans, but they’re also the cheapest plans. Co-payments are either very low ($5 to $10) or are free.

PPOs (Preferred Provider Organizations) – With these plans you also pay a monthly premium to join a network of physicians and hospitals. You can choose to see whatever doctor you prefer, but if he or she is not part of the network you’ll need to pay an extra fee.

PPOs cost a little more than HMOs, but a lot of people prefer them because they are less restrictive. Co-payments average $5 to $10.

POS (Point of Service plans) - These plans are a combination of HMOs and POSs. You must choose a primary care physician to oversee your healthcare treatment, but you can see a non-network physician without having to pay extra fees if your primary care physician refers you to him.

POS plans cost a little more the PPOs and HMOs, but are more flexible. Co-payments are about the same as for HMOs and PPOs.

Which Plan is Best?

In order to determine which health insurance plan will best meet your needs, you need to find out the following:

* Does the plan cover the services you need?

* What co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurances does the plan have?

* How much freedom do you have in choosing your own physician?

* What is the waiting period for pre-existing conditions?

Inexpensive Health Insurance

In order to get the best rates on health insurance you need to comparison shop. Thanks to the Internet, you don’t have to spend hours on end calling local insurance companies or surfing single-company websites to get quotes. Now you can go to an insurance comparison website, fill our a simple questionnaire, and get quotes from multiple comapnies.

The best comparison sites only deal with A-rated companies so you know the company you choose will be reliable and will give you good service. Theses sites also have an insurance expert on hand to answer any insurance questions you may have. (See link below.)

Dan Bull – America

Dan on Facebook: www.facebook.com Dan on Twitter: www.twitter.com Dan’s MySpace: www.myspace.com Download the MP3 of America: www.zshare.net Buy or download Dan Bull’s debut album Safe from www.freshnut.co.uk Lyrics: America, America Here’s to your health America, America Now tell me, why’s the country that’s the most wealthy also amongst the most unhealthy? There’s probably a lot of theories out there, but mine’s got to be the lack of national healthcare – a category of welfare that happens to be well fair whether there’s wealth there or whether it’s elsewhere. Now you can probably tell where this is going from my accent, or you’re thinking “why’s this British guy rapping?” I like America – the music; the people. That’s why I want to see improvements to each of them. There’s problems here too, Britain’s got its fair share. I’m sure you know about our questionable dental care, but there’s one thing that stands better than the rest, and that’s the NHS, yes. Where nobody faces rejection just because to treat them would be a dangerous investment. Where what the doctor prescribes is what you’re given instead of having to wait for your insurer’s decision. Where prescriptions are a reasonable price, if you need something lifelong you can even subscribe. Where if you’re old or young; unemployed; then it’s free, and the price tag becomes null and void. Where you can go home without paying one penny; where you’ve still

Tips to Eating Healthy at Restaurants

April 15th, 2010

When you are carefully watching your diet to maintain your healthy lifestyle, eating at a restaurant can completely throw off your goal to eat healthily. Many restaurants have rich foods with large portion sizes, together which can end up being over 1,000 calories per plate. However, eating at a restaurant does not have to condemn your diet to failure. Here are some tips that you can use to help you make healthy choices when enjoying a meal at your favorite dining establishment.

First, it is important to realize that restaurants use special advertising tactics in order to trick you into choosing a calorie-laden meal. Menus that contain pictures of seemingly juicy, mouth-watering food are more likely to convince you to forgo your diet and go all-out. However, don’t let the pictures fool you. Additionally, restaurants will use descriptive language on the menu to make a fattening food seem too good to pass up. For example, the menu may describe a “creamy, succulent sauce covering fresh pasta and thick, hearty meatballs” rather than just “spaghetti and meatballs.” When your read the first detail, it makes you imagine the tasty sensations of eating that dish.

On the other hand, it contains hints as to the item’s healthiness. While a little pasta can be a delicious way to meet your daily carbohydrate requirement, the pasta dishes served at restaurants are almost always much bigger than necessary. Additionally, “creamy” sauce can mean a sauce loaded with heavy cream and butter, both of which are fattening. Also, gigantic meatballs can be more protein and red meat than you need. Red meat has been linked to heart disease and cancer, so you should always enjoy this item in moderation.

Next, besides reading for clue words, look for items that are naturally more lean. For instance, try to choose a meal that contains at least one serving of vegetables. Keep in mind, though, that mashed potatoes, french fries, fried veggies, and vegetables soaked in butter don’t do too much to help you meet your health goals. Look for condiments, including salad dressings, that are more olive oil-based. Olive oil contains special fatty acids that can actually help raise your good cholesterol levels rather than your bad ones.

Lastly, there are some strategies that you can employ to help you stick to your diet. When you get your meal, ask for a box so that you can go ahead and put half of it away. This way, you can keep yourself from being tempted into overeating. Also, you can opt to split the meal with a friend who is also looking to stick to his or her diet. If you want, you can choose to visit restaurants that serve only organic foods as well as large amounts of fresh veggies.

Eating healthy isn’t the only way to keep your body in tip-top shape. You should consider exercise as well as regular visits to the doctor for check-ups. If you need help in paying for your doctor’s visits, you should consider health insurance to help you with these costs.
